Travis Scott Finally released his 3rd studio album Astroworld on Friday. The project has been long awaited, and actually started before his 3rd album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight that came out in 2016.
The project featured over 50 collaborators including a very wide range of known musicians including Drake, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, James Blake, John Mayer, and Stevie Wonder. Travis failed to get a grammy nod for Birds and while he is on pace to triple first week sales for this album only time will tell whether he succeeds this time around.
The album title Astroworld is actually named after the old closed down theme park that was in Houston TX, Travis Scotts hometown. The whole album not only has references to Houston but the entire theme is about Scotts return home after making it and traveling the world. He has gone on record saying he plans to bring amusement park rides to the experience of the albums tour dates.
There are several pieces of merch available online, each collection only for sale for 24 hours at a time.
Update:
The video for the track STOP TRYING TO BE GOD has been released, and it features Scotts girlfriend Kylie Jenner as a part emulating the Virgin Mary.
Update 2:
Each of the 17 songs on Astroworld charted on the hot 100 this week.
